FULL TIME FACULTY

Ewan Atkinson received a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art and an MA in Cultural Studies at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill.
Atkinson’s work has been exhibited in international galleries, museums, and biennials including the Art Museum of the Americas in Washington D.C., The Brooklyn Museum in New York, The Frost Art Museum in Miami, the Liverpool Biennial and the Havana Biennial. He is co-director of PUNCH Creative Arena.
An art educator for two decades, Ewan Atkinson is currently the coordinator of the Studio Art BFA programme. Atkinson teaches Advanced Studio Practice, Portfolio, Contemporary Issues in Art, Professional Practices, 2D Studio Practice and the Critical Awareness seminar.
PART TIME FACULTY

Ras Ishi Butcher is a multi-award-winning Barbadian artist. Educated at The Barbados Community College and Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana Cuba, he has been producing art since the early 1980s, is recognised throughout the Caribbean and internationally. His work, which is largely socially-themed, experimental and non-representational, and is represented in many private and public collections including the Barbados National Art Collection.

Ras Ishi teaches 2D studio Practice, 3D Studio Practice Advanced Studio and Portfolio

Versia Harris received her BFA in Studio Art in 2012. She volunteered at two art organisation in Barbados; Fresh Milk Art Platform Inc. and Punch Creative Arena while also teaching at the Barbados Community College. In 2014, Versia’s work was featured in the IV Moscow International Biennial for Young Art themed ‘A Time for Dreams’ and was subsequently selected to be apart of the follow up exhibition MOMENTUM_InsideOut screening of ‘A Time For Dreams’ in Berlin. Her first solo show in 2015 in Barbados was titled “This Quagmire”. She was awarded a Fulbright Laspau Scholarship in 2017 and received her MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan USA in May, 2019, where she also earned a Mercedes-Benz Financial Services New Beginnings Award.

Harris teaches Advanced Studio Practice, Portfolio, Video, 2D studio Practice and the Critical Awareness seminar.

Natalie McGuire-Batson holds an MA in Museums and Cultural Heritage from The University of Auckland, NZ, and a BA in Art History from The University of Leicester, UK. She contributes to regional platforms such as ARC Magazine, Small Axe and AICA Southern Caribbean. Currently Natalie is the Social History Curator at the Barbados Museum & Historical Society.
