THE PROGRAMME
Founded in 1994, the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art is a three year programme that combines studio and theory courses as well as research skills and professional practices to provide students with technical, conceptual and critical skills as the foundation for artistic practice and other art-related occupations. Emphasis is placed on fostering a developing and maturing creative process.

The end result is a cohesive body of work which is presented at the graduating Portfolio Exhibition. In addition, emphasis is placed on acquiring a knowledge of historical and contemporary artistic practice both regionally and internationally through the study of art history and visual culture theory. The intent is to provide students with a solid understanding of art and a context in which to develop their own work.
